Not nativeHow LG Channels is built for TV
LG Channels is a first-party FAST service built into webOS. Like Samsung TV Plus it trades cross-platform reach for tight integration with LG's own launcher and Magic Remote.
webOS is a Chromium-based web platform, so the app is a web app with privileged access to system features.
Building something like LG Channels?
- webOS supports both D-pad and Magic Remote pointer input. Build for both.
- First-party OS apps skip third-party certification but inherit the platform's rules.
- See the webOS testing guide for the ares CLI and Developer Mode workflow.
